South Korea’s chip-making behemoth Samsung Electronics Wednesday said its system-on-chip solution Exynos processors have been chosen to feed German auto brand Audi’s in-vehicle infotainment system.

The German carmaker has been running Audi Progressive Semiconductor Program from 2010 to develop and employ latest technologies in its automobiles and it picked Samsung’s Exynos processors for Audi’s next-generation in-car video and audio entertainment and navigation system, Samsung said in a statement.

Samsung’s Exynos processors can support four displays and operating systems at once in a vehicle and can support powerful computing and graphic processing performance to deliver robust and reliable interface and greater user engagement, it said.

“We are very thrilled to be a part of the rapidly advancing automobile technology,” said Charlie Bae, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, System LSI Business at Samsung Electronics.

“With Exynos processors, Samsung has proven its technology leadership in performance, reliability and innovative packaging solutions,” said Alfons Pfaller, Head of Infotainment Development at Audi. “Through the PSCP, Samsung and Audi will work together to bring the best in-vehicle infotainment experience at the automotive quality level expected from the Audi brand.”
