South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. said on Thursday its laptop Gram 14 has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the lightest 14-inch laptop on the planet.
Weighing only 860 grams, the LG Gram 14 earned accreditation for this claim from Guinness World Records Committee that evaluated more than 70 models in the same class sold in 25 countries. The company’s Gram 15, a 15.6-inch laptop with a weight of 980 grams, was also certified by the committee as the world’s lightest 15-inch laptop in July 2016.
However, the company’s 13.3-inch model Gram 13 weighing 830 grams failed to win the title after losing to Lenovo’s 780-gram laptop LaVie Z H550.
The Korean tech giant will focus not only on the device’s ultra-lightness but also long-lasting battery life marked with the launch of All Day Gram models this year.
The 13.3-inch All Day Gram features a 24-hour battery life, with 14-inch and 15.6-inch versions lasting for 23 hours and 22 hours, respectively.
