The Seoul National University Bundang Hospital said Monday it has teamed up with Korea’s top wireless carrier SK Telecom and ezCaretech to export self-developed electronic system to collect and store data on patients to overseas.
Its first client is California-based psychiatric hospital group Aurora Behavioral Healthcare that offered to buy the medical information system BESTCare 2.0 for $20 million.
BESTCare 2.0 ensures high security and privacy while allowing hospital staff access to past patients’ medical records and history from other institutions. The status quo on hospitalized patient as well as information on treatment in digital format enables doctors to have a complete picture of patients.
“Digitalized healthcare system is a high value-added industry powered by IT and medical convergence technologies. We are happy to enter the difficult U.S. market with our electronic system,” said Jeon Sang-hun, head of the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital said.
