Chinese tourists grab honey-butter almond snack and Japanese dried laver before they jump on the plane taking them back to their home, according to a study by Shinsegae Duty Free at Incheon International Airport on Sunday.

Shinsegae duty free store at the Incheon International Airport has a wide range of ready-made food and snack choices at its food corner including Samgyetang (ginseng and chicken soup mix) and Jeju Tangerine chocolate. Samgyetang had been the most popular food that Chinese visitors bought at the airport last year, but it was dethroned by sweet buttered almond snack as Korea’s honey butter craze caught onto the Chinese. The second place was honey butter mixed nuts.

Japanese travelers kept partial to Korean dried laver. The top four best-selling products for Japanese were all dried laver products in different flavors. Koreans packed up cup noodles the most before they got on the plane for overseas trip.
