LG Electronics Inc. will showcase five budget smartphone models with more advanced specifications at the upcoming CES event, world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology to be held in Las Vegas from January 5 to 8, the company said on Thursday.

The Korean consumer electronics giant said it will present upgraded K-Series smartphones - K10, K8, K4, K3 that are the company’s flagship entry-level handsets. They all come with advanced camera functions such as the Auto Shot, which automatically takes a picture when a face is detected, and the Gesture Shot allowing its user to easily take a selfie with a simple hand gesture.

The K10 boasts the highest specifications among the K-Series handsets, according to the company. It will be equipped with a 5-megapixel 120-degree-angle front-facing camera, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 5.3-inch high-definition display. It is also the first K-Series model to come with a fingerprint scanner, and its body is only 7.9 millimeters thick.

Along with the K-Series, the new Stylus 3 will make its debut at the upcoming CES. It is a mid-range smartphone with an upgraded pen, offering smoother writing experience, according to the company.

“What’s consistent in all our K Series and Stylus 3 devices is that they look and feel premium, offer replaceable batteries and all come with expandable memory slots, what customers consider key factors when buying smartphones in this category,” said Juno Cho, president of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

The company has not disclosed the prices of the new mass-tier smartphones yet.
