South Korea’s light-emitting diode (LED) maker Seoul Semiconductor Co. has warned 29 foreign lighting companies and TV makers of legal actions if they continue to infringe on its proprietary technologies.

Officials from the company visited 29 firms to personally deliver warning notices listing their violation of the company’s patents related to backlight lends, filaments, LED chips and packages, according to the company on Thursday.

The accused include Feit Electric and six others from the United States, Redvan and two others from Europe, Skyworth and 14 others from China, and Advanced Optoelectronic Technology (AOT) and three others from Taiwan. The Korean company charged the makers of infringing on its core technologies used to make LED TVs, smartphone flash and LED filament bulbs including wafer level integrated chip on PCB (Wicop), a technology enabling package-less production of LED it had developed for the first time in the world, as well as arcrich multi-junction technology.

The company will file lawsuits against them in Europe and Korea and pursue until corrective actions are taken.
