Due to fast proliferation of self-banking in Korea, the nation’s market leader Nautilus Hyosung Crop., a financial and banking service providing unit of Hyosung Group, is beaming with increasing demand for its unmanned banking solution.

According to Hyosung and financial industry on Wednesday, the company is in talks with KB Kookmin Bank to supply its teller-less banking service New Branch Solution, after striking deals to offer the solution to Shinhan Bank and Woori Bank. Shinhan bank was the first Korean bank to introduce the self-banking service Digital Kiosk in December last year, and its total number of transactions has reached 431,000.

Nautilus Hyosung has been aggressively expanding its New Branch Solution business and promoting self-banking as its next growth engine. The New Branch Solution allows customers to handle 90 percent of their banking service including making loans, fund subscription and credit card business through biometric identity authentication, which cannot be offered through the existing automated teller machines.

Across the world, a growing number of banks are competitively introducing teller-less branches to reduce the number of unnecessary staff and allow its staff to focus on more complex offerings.
