Huawei to launch its premium models P9 series in Korea

Huawei will officially launch its high-end P9 and P9 Plus in December via its local partner LG Uplus, a South Korean telecommunications and mobile phone operator, the company said at a launching event at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul on Wednesday. This is the first time for Huawei to introduce high-priced models in Korea.
The P9 series are equipped with German optics maker Leica’s dual camera setup on the back which controls color on one side and contrast and depth on the other side, allowing users to capture vivid colors. The cameras on the back of the premium smartphones have 12 megapixel sensors with 8 megapixels on its front-facing camera.
The P9 and P9 Plus ensure fast identity online with Huawei’s world-leading biometric fingerprint recognition technology. The virtual triple antenna offers uninterrupted connection on cellular or Wi-Fi network. P9 Plus also recognizes touch strength.
Featuring a 5.5-inch touch display and a larger 3,400mAh battery, the 64GB version P9 plus comes in haze gold and quartz grey. P9 comes in three colors including mystic silver, titanium grey and rose gold with a 5.2-inch display and 32GB memory.
The P9 series was first unveiled in UK in April this year. Since its release, this flagship managed to ship 9 million units, raising shares of Huawei in the premium smartphone market.
The price range at the time of the European launch was between 599 and 749 euros ($637-796), but P9 series will be available in Korea at lower prices.
