South Korea’s cosmetics brand Isoi, known for chemical-free products, has been expanding its presence in the global market.

Isoi products are made of natural ingredients and don’t use any toxic chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), parabens, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polypropylene glycol (PPG). Isoi is the nation’s first cosmetics label that has received verification from Environmental Working Group (EWG), an American environmental organization, for not having any harmful chemicals in all of its products.

The skincare brand debuted on the global market this year by opening stores at outlets of Whole Foods Market in New York and at Sephora stores in China. “We’ve already had some repeat customers in the U.S.,” said ISOI chief executive officer Lee Jin-min, adding that it would open more stores through Whole Foods Market outlets across the U.S.

It also plans to enter the German market next year by establishing a research center in the country and hiring the former head researcher at Germany’s natural cosmetics brand Logona Naturkosmetik this year.

The company has some makeup products and perfume in the pipeline which would also be free of harmful chemicals. The most famous product of ISOI is its Bulgarian Rose Oil lineup that uses Bulgarian government-certified rose oil containing large amount of vitamin A and C.
