South Korean pharmaceutical conglomerate Dong-A Socio Group reorganized the senior executive level with younger generation to be bolder and adventurous in management style under 50-something chairman.
Dong-A Socio Group on Thursday announced that Kang Soo-hyoung, 61, will be promoted to vice chairman of pharmaceutical unit Dong-A ST Co. from the president of the same company to replace the former vice chairman Kim Won-bae who is retiring.
The president office of Dong-A ST will be filled in by Min Jang-sung, president of food and beverage unit Dong-A Otsuka Co., who is 48. Min previously headed Dong-A ST’s Daegu regional office in south of Korea.
Choi Ho-jin, 50, head of marketing team at Dong-A Pharmaceutical Co. was promoted to the president of Dong-A Pharmaceutical. Yang Dong-young, 54, head of sales at Dong-A Otsuka was named as the president of Dong-A Otsuka and Chae Hong-ki, 52, head of general management team at the group’s holding company Dong-A Socio Holdings Co. was appointed as the president of IT unit DA Information Co.
The latest management reshuffle signifies that the pharmaceutical group completed power succession from the group chairman Kang Shin-ho to his 52-year-old son and group vice chairman Kang Jung-seok as well as a shift to a holding company structure, industry watchers said.
