Samsung Electronics Co. launched a new Blue Coral color edition for its flagship smartphone Galaxy S7 Edge on Friday in hopes that the new color option that created a splash when it was first added to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 to keep up sales during the hiatus following the disgraceful exit of Galaxy Note7 before it releases a new series in Galaxy S premium league in the first quarter.

According to company, the Blue Coral S7 Edge, available in 32GB and 64GB storage options, has hit the shelves of retail stores of Korea’s three mobile carriers - KT Corp., SK Telecom Co., and LG U+ Corp. on Friday. The price is 924,000 won ($793) for 32 GB model and 968,000 won for 64GB model, the same with the other color options for the flagship phone that made debut in the market earlier this year.

The world’ largest smartphone maker hopes that its offering of Blue Coral color could raise the return rate of the Note 7 that has recently exceeded 40 percent in the country. After discontinuing the Note 7 production due to the mysterious battery defect that makes the phone to catch fire, the company has offered generous compensation packages to Note 7 owners to encourage them to exchange their phones with other Samsung phones or other companies’ phones.
