South Korea’s leading budget carrier Jeju Air Co. will add four international routes next month.

The low-cost carrier said Monday that it will launch new flight service between Incheon, Korea and Sanya in China starting Dec. 5. The new route will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. From Dec. 15, it will fly daily from Busan, Korea to Tokyo, Japan; four times from Busan to Saipan and also run a regular flight between Busan and Phuket in Thailand. Flight between Busan and Fukuoka, Japan, will be increased to 10 times a week from seven.

Jeju Air would have five regular flights domestically and 34 routes to 24 cities by the end of the year. This year alone, the carrier has added 10 routes.

The budget carrier plans to increase new destinations at home and overseas - China and Southeast Asia - next year to be equipped with 50 regular routes.

Value Alliance, the low-cost alliance formed by eight budget carriers in the Asia-Pacific region in May, will be in full-fledged operation from next year. The alliance shares services among 176 carriers flying to 160 cities through 17 hub airports in the Asia-Pacific region.
