LG Elec begins OS update to Nougat for G5 Android phones

South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. said Tuesday that it was offering to update service on the G5 smartphone with Android 7.0 Nougat Operating System (OS). It becomes the second Android phone to run on Nougat after the Google Nexus phone.

The Nougat is the latest OS for Android mobile devices that was released on August 22. It offers a range of new features designed to enhance the user experience and add speed and convenience for smartphone users. For example, searches can be conducted inside user-installed apps as well as built-in apps using Nougat’s In Apps. New Multi-window allows the user to switch between apps with a double tap or run two apps side by side. More personalized settings and smarter notifications enable users to be more productive with less effort.

G5 users can get the upgrade using LG Bridge Software. LG has run a Nougat preview program on 2,000 users of G5 phones since August.
