LG Electronics Inc. released new premium home appliances in the U.S. in a move to accelerate its efforts to expand its presence in the American built-in home appliance market.

South Korea’s household home appliance LG Electronics on Friday announced that it launched luxury built-in home appliance “Black Stainless Steel” series in the U.S. The new built-in lineup includes refrigerator, wall oven, gas and electric cook-top, microwave oven, and dish washer that were designed by renowned American interior designer Nate Berkus. The bundle of built-in refrigerator, oven, cook-top, and dishwasher will be offered at $16,000.

The Black Stainless Steel series home appliances are designed to deliver harmonious look with other kitchenwares and the protective coating applied on the products make them fingerprint and smudge resistant, making it easy to keep the home appliances clean all the time, the company said.

The consumer electronics maker also employed the “knock-on magic space” technology that has been received well in the market to its new built-in refrigerator. The special feature shows inside the fridge through a transparent glass upon two knocks on the door.

The company has much endeavored to nurture the built-in home appliance business ever since it unveiled the high-end brand “LG Studio” three years ago in the U.S. In July, it launched upscale built-in brand “Signature Kitchen Suite” simultaneously in Korea and the U.S., and has been expanding its presence in the U.S home appliance market through the Pacific Sales, high-end kitchen appliance shopping zone of America’s largest consumer electronics retailer Best Buy Co.
