Cheongna City Infinity Tower to be constructed in Cheongna International City

According to Bosung Construction Co. on Fridday, a Bosung Construction consortium was selected as the project operator of the city tower. Its constructor Hanyang Construction plans to sign a contract with Korea Land & Housing Corp. next month and start construction in the second half of next year. Various cultural complex facilities would be also constructed near the city tower.
The city tower is a highrise building which would be located in the middle of the lake park regarded as the heart of Cheongna. The tall building overlooks North Korea.
“Hanyang Construction, Posco Construction and U.S.-based Tower Escrow, as well as Bosung Construction, have been participated in a bid for the project operator,” said an official of Bosung Construction. A Bosung Construction consortium received high points in plans for resources supply and management operation,” he added.
“The building creates the illusion that there is no building by using media façade technology,” said an official of Dongil Architects & Engineers in charge of the design.
The city tower project has tried to choose the project operator four times from 2007 to August this year but it has failed every time. The development of Cheongna International City would gain momentum as the city tower project has been pushed forward again in 10 years.
