GS Group chair suggests use of outside sources for new growth

“We need to build insights and entrepreneurial spirit that can uncover new growth engine from hidden opportunities buried under on-going changes (in the market),” demanded Huh Chang-soo, GS Group chairman on Wednesday at the top management meeting where about 150 senior executives including the head of GS Caltex Corp attended.
The latest change in technology that is also referred as the fourth industrial revolution is panning out fast and deeply, said Huh. The group’s business portfolio revolving around energy, retail, and construction sectors won’t sustain long.
“We need to make bold and active moves to build an innovative organization and create an open-minded corporate culture to take up new changes through not only inner but outside resources,” said the chairman.
