Kakao Games seals Chrono Odyssey publishing deal

South Korean video game publisher Kakao Games Corp. announced on Thursday that it inked a global publishing agreement for ‘Chrono Odyssey’, a PC and console massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that is being developed by Chrono Studio, a subsidiary of Korean game developer NPIXEL Co.

With the agreement, Kakao Games acquired the rights to publish Chrono Odyssey for Korean and international services.

Chrono Odyssey is an action MMORPG on the PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms that features high-quality graphics powered by the Unreal Engine 5 as well as sophisticated action scenes.

Chrono Studio unveiled a new trailer for Chrono Odyssey during the opening event of Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2024, the world‘s largest game developer conference which kicked off on Monday.

Kakao Games plans to release more details about the game through various channels, including the official Steam page for Chrono Odyssey.

“We are looking forward to seeing the finished product of Chrono Odyssey, as it has garnered attention on the global stage from its debut,” Han Sang-woo, the incoming chief executive officer of Kakao Games, said. “We will work closely with the developer to ensure that Chrono Odyssey plays an important role in expanding our platform and global reach.”

Chrono Studio CEO Bae Bong-gun added, “We are committed to showcasing the new possibilities of Korean MMORPGs to a global audience and delivering the unique fun of the game.”
