Galaxy Note7 returns to shops on Oct. 1 after Samsung Electronics went on self-enforced sales ban from early September to fix and carry out multi-billion-dollar global recall on the phablet due to a battery cell problem.

The world’s largest smartphone maker will throw in generous benefits offering to share half of the cost for any damage on the screen and mobile gift token worth 100,000 won ($90.71) for purchases on Samsung Pay mall to new buyers of the big-screen phone that first debuted in August with much fanfare before the battery setback.

Samsung’s shares traded at 1,614,000 won as of 2 p.m. Friday, up 0.88 percent from the previous session.

Those customers who pre-ordered the phone in August were able to pick up theirs from Wednesday before official sales resumption. They were rewarded with Gear Fit2, a global positioning system (GPS) sports band for waiting more than a month.

On the first day, 16,000 customers collected their Note7 and roughly 13,000 followed on the following day. There were few cancellations, raising hopes for a turnaround after the battery mishap.

To distinguish the phone from the previous version with questionable battery pack, the newly available phablet screen shows the battery icon 30 percent bigger in green color instead of previous white. The packaging also specifies the version is entirely new.

The price is unchanged at 988,900 won. Black onyx has been added to the initial color selection of blue coral, gold platinum, and silver titanium.

The company hopes to complete recall as soon as possible and began TV ads this week.
