South Korea’s two household home appliance names Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc., will slash up to 53 percent in the price tags of their offerings for the government-sponsored month-long bargain stunt at local retailers.

Samsung Electronics will offer up to 53 percent discount in 12 items of household appliances from September 29 to October 31. LG Electronics will cut prices of up to 40 percent in 36 types of 10 bestselling items.

Their sales period has been extended from the usual 11 days to join the government-led fete.

The sale item from Samsung Electronics includes 60-inch UHD televisions with the price axed by up to 25 percent, Zipel T9000 refrigerators by up to 29 percent, Add Wash washing machines by up to 19 percent, breeze-free air-conditioners by up to 10 percent, Zipel M9000 refrigerators by up to 31 percent and Motion Sync vacuum cleaners by up to 53 percent. The price on Galaxy S6 Edge Plus would be cut by more than 36 percent from October 1.

LG Electronics also will offer up to 40-percent discounts and mobile gift cards during the special discount period between September 29 and October 9. The sale event will further be stretched to late next month. The company will have special discounts offers for eight kinds of premium televisions including 65-inch ultra OLED television, 70-, 65-, 60- and 55-inch super ultra HD televisions. The 65-inch ultra OLED televisions will be sold at 6.2 million won ($5,666) and the super ultra HD televisions priced at between 3.49 million won and 1.69 million won.

Various benefits would be thrown in for household appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, air-conditioners, air-cleaners, vacuum cleaners and light wave ovens and IT products including laptops and monitors on top of price cuts.
