LG Elec hopes to benefit from rival woes with new V20 release

The company is discussing retail pricing with top three mobile carriers - KT Corp., SK Telecom Co., LG U+ Corp. The price tag is expected in the range of 800,000 won ($722) to 900,000 won. The phone will then be released in the United States, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The V20 boasts high-end audio functions. It features 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by ESS Technology, designers of high-performance audio products to deliver clearer sound by minimizing distortion and ambient noise by up to 50 percent. Its audio capacity is also polished thanks to LG’s collaboration with Danish premium audio-video products maker B&O PLAY. Such top-tier features would lift its price than it originally planned.
The company is expected to go all-out in marketing to enjoy the solo run in the premium segment before Samsung returns after completing the recall program and Apple’s new phone arrives.
