South Korea’s tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. is resolved to upgrade its home appliance business by interconnecting all its consumer electronics products via the internet by 2020.

Suh Byung-sam, head of Samsung Electronics’ Digital Appliance division said on Friday at the IFA 2016 in Berlin, Germany that the company will collaborate with retail experts to lead various projects in a bid to maintain leadership in the built-in appliance industry. The company will start the built-in home appliance business in full gear through the recently acquired luxury home appliance brand Dacor Inc., said Suh.

The Korean electronics maker showcased its new built-in appliance product lineups at the IFA 2016, Europe’s largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances held in Berlin, Germany, that kicked off on September 2.

Samsung’s premium home appliance product lineups such as AddWash washing machine and Family Hub refrigerator that the company developed through “rethinking” the products have been leading the market. If the company had been busy following and copying the others before, Samsung brands are now setting the trend, said Suh. The Family Hub refrigerator especially has become the “new normal” as it presents solutions with new features to consumers even before they ask for changes, Suh added.

The company’s consumer electronics division posted the 1.03 trillion won ($932 million) in operating profit, marking a record high, in the second quarter this year.
