Apple Inc. officially kicked off its music streaming service Apple Music in South Korea on Friday.

The American tech giant released Apple Music in Korea inviting local users for three-month trial on Friday morning. The service is accessible through not only iPhones and iPads but also Android devices. The Apple Music is available at the Google Play store for Android-users but one must sign up for an Apple membership account to use the music service.

The monthly membership fee is set at $7.99 for an individual user while a family of up to six members may use the service at $11.99 a month. The Apple Music also offers a three-month trial for first-time users. Although the Apple Music is offered at cheaper prices in Korea compared to the U.S. but it is still up to 1,000 won ($ 0.90) more expensive than other Korean music service companies such as Melon.

Apple songs offered in Korea are also limited. Most of song collection will be American songs and a relatively small number of Korean songs as it has yet to sign an agreement with major Korean entertainment companies.

The Apple Music was launched in about 100 countries last year and more than 10 million users signed up for the service in just six months Apple began the service. Around 15 million are paid users of the service.
