Daewoo E&C remains biggest housing supplier in Korea for 7 years

Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. (Daewoo E&C) will be supplying 31,481 residential units this year to keep up the rank as top housing supplier in South Korea from the private sector for seven straight years.

The company has built more than 10,000 houses each year since 2000. The company’s total supply reached about 313,000 houses, the largest level in the local home building industry and enough to house the entire population of Asan City in Southern Chungcheong Province.

The company also has been making headway in overseas.

A company official said Daewoo E&C is participating in a project to build a new city in Boughzoul, Algeria and it signed an MOU to build houses for 100,000 households in Saudi Arabia last March. “We will continue to seek new city home building projects overseas and expand planning and proposal-type projects,” the official added.
