Samsung SDS Co., the ICT solutions unit of South Korea’s largest conglomerate, said it invested in British cyber security firm Darktrace Ltd. and Korean blockchain platform venture Blocko Inc. It did not specify the amount.
The firm aims to strengthen its security solutions and services using Darktrace’s next-generation security solutions and proceed with diverse ICT projects by applying blockchain technology to numerous areas such as Internet of Things (IOT).
Darktrace detects and responds to cyber security threats irrespective of their origin in real time, using machine learning technology. It was named “Best Security Company of the Year” at Info Security Products’ Guide’s annual Global Excellence Awards consecutively for 2015 and 2016. Blocko is a blockchain platform developer that provides its platform for numerous companies in financial technology, IoT medical and other sectors.
