South Korea’s National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup) unveiled on Wednesday ‘NH Farm’, a uniform family brand representing Korean farm produces in overseas market. NH not only stands for Nonghyup but also ‘natural’ and ‘healthy’, and ‘Farm’ represents fresh and reliable Korean produces that delivered from farm to table, the company said.

Various farm units of Nonghyup have used 254 different labels when exporting Korean produces. Higher recognition and popularity of Korean fresh food required common label for more credibility, it said.

Nonghyup held a ceremony to celebrate the release of the brand and signed supply contracts with retailers from the United States, China, Japan and Iran. The company plans marketing campaign in overseas in early stage and will later establish branches to oversee management and marketing Korean farm produce. It will also pitch the brand through dramas, Korean channels and video sites like Youtube.

“We will promote the excellence of Korean agricultural products and make NH Farm a global brand in order to achieve $1 billion in Korean farm exports by 2020,” said Kim Byung-won, chairman of Nongyup.
