The total supply of complete chassis modules by South Korea’s largest auto parts maker Hyundai Mobis Co. for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV’s vehicles manufactured in the United States is expected to exceed 4 million units by the end of this year, hundred-fold from the annual supply of 40,000 in the first year of 2006.

Hyundai Mobis on Sunday said its North American factories located in Ohio and Michigan exclusively supply parts for Chrysler vehicles are expected to turn out combined 584,000 units of complete chassis modules this year. From the record so far, the parts maker’s supplies to the U.S. carmaker would reach 4 million by the year-end and set a meaningful milestone for the company’s U.S. factories marking their 10th year in mass production.

Hyundai Mobis first won the bid to provide complete chassis modules for the Chrysler Jeep Wrangler JK in 2005. A complete chassis module is a core part of a car that integrates 350 components including an engine, transmission, steering and suspension systems in a chassis frame, according to the Korean company.

Hyundai Mobis won orders from Chrysler vehicles after numerous negotiations that brought Chrysler executives to check the production lines of then relatively unknown parts unit of Hyundai Motor.

The Ohio plant established in 2006 has been producing complete chassis module for Chrysler’s main model, Jeep Wrangler, and its Michigan plant established in 2010 supplies front and rear chassis modules for Chrysler Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango.
