LG Uplus Corp. announced Wednesday that it is running network experience zones near universities as part of marketing efforts to engage young consumers.

The mobile carrier plans to conduct mobile data network inspections at 478 universities until March 26 and highlight network improvements at 50 campuses.

LG Uplus also plans to set up free Wi-Fi zones near major university areas in Seoul, starting with one near Yonsei University on Thursday and Friday.

A communication channel will be opened on the Uth website for users to provide suggestions and feedback on the network. Uth is LG Uplus’ subscription product tailored for individuals in their 20s.

LG Uplus will also launch an event page where users can explore their communication tendencies through a test similar to a personality test popular among the young people.

The event is open to those born between 1995 and 2005, regardless of their telecom subscription status.
