LG Electronics Inc. said Tuesday it released a new light-emitting diode (LED) projector with TV function - latest addition to its “Minibeam” lineup, model name PH450U - that delivers a 80inch-cinematic size within a mere 33-centimeter (13 inch) distance.
The PH450U has a wireless mirroring function that connects it to a PC, smartphone or a tablet accessing content for projection. Thanks to the function, it only needs about one-tenth of the distance that conventional projectors require to display contents on a wall. For a 40-inch projection, it only takes a 7.4-centimeter space between the projector and the wall.
The battery lasts up to two and a half hours, long enough for a movie. The projector also comes at an affordable price tag of 790,000 won - half the price of the previous model - in full high definition (HD) resolution (1,280×720) with 450Lumen high brightness.
LG has been the invincible leader in the domestic LED projector market for five consecutive years since 2011. Its idea to make projectors portable for use at home created a new lucrative market.
