Moon Jae-wan, a professor of the law school of Hankuk Universities of Foreign Studies (HUFS), was appointed as the president of Arirang TV, an English-language broadcasting network based in Seoul and operated by state-run Korea International Broadcasting Foundation, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Tuesday.
Established in 1997 as a cable TV broadcasting station targeting foreigners living in Korea, Arirang TV broadcasts have been airing in 106 countries to more than 112 million viewers.
Moon joined the Maeil Business Newspaper in 1991 as a journalist. He acquired a master’s degree and Ph.D. degree in constitutional study at Indiana University. He was also admitted to the bar in New York State. He served as the dean of law school at HUFS after an assistant professor in department of law at Dankook University.
