Governments of Korea and Israel agreed to team up in development of amphibious drones financed by a joint fund the two countries have been running for mutually beneficial research and development projects since 2001.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy visited Israel for annual discussions on joint ventures with officials there in the industrial sector and chose to fund unmanned aerial vehicle and wine viticulture.

Keva Drone of Korea and Israel’s Aerodrome were chosen to develop lightweight drones capable of landing on water and picture-taking while in service. The drone market is growing rapidly in the world, and teaming up with Israel with advanced technology in the field would be a boost for local industry, a ministry official said.

Meanwhile, Mates of Korea and AKOL of Israel were selected to co-develop wine producing technology based on big data.
