Samsung Electronics launches budget-friendly Galaxy J series smartphones

Samsung Electronics Thursday launched budget-friendly Galaxy J series smartphones for 2016, a move to get the start against Apple`s planned launch of the iPhone SE due on May 10.

The Galaxy J5 is available in black and white color options, with the Galaxy J7 in black and gold. The price is set at 297,000 won and 363,000 won, respectively. The Galaxy J5 is supported by three telecom providers - SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus - and the Galaxy J7 is supported only by KT.

The new Galaxy J series features elegant design, large display and metal frame. The 5.2-inch Galaxy J5 and the 5.5-inch Galaxy J7 have a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen.

Camera functions have improved. It sports a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera also on board. The F1.9 lens both in front and in rear allows bright and clear photos even in low light conditions

The front-facing LED flash realizes gorgeous selfie photos even in a dark place.

A double click on the home button will open the camera app within a second. It also supports external memory slot. The battery capacity of the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 is 3100mAh and 3300mAh, the highest level among peer smartphones.

The Galaxy J3 for 2016 will go on sale soon. The white color Galaxy J3 is known to be equipped with a 5-inch Super AMOLED display and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
