South Korea’s tech giant LG Electronics Inc. said on Wednesday it has rolled out its new 86-inch “Ultra Stretch” commercial display with a 58:9 aspect ratio.

According to the company, the Ultra Stretch has the widest aspect ratio among signage displays currently out in the market, meaning that it has the largest width to height. LG Electronics’ new signage display allows users to utilize odd space such as street poles and edges in which in the past was difficult to install a signage and put up a billboard. The bar-type display is 2,158 millimeters (7.1 feet) wide and 349 millimeters long, enabling users to install either a very wide or very long digital signage.

The Ultra Stretch display can also be installed in media poles that are integrated with indoor facilities inside the airport or hotel. The signage can also be put up as an advertisement board on top of a building entrance. Users can also connect up to 16 units of the Ultra Stretch to use as one display. When the signage display is installed in a separate holder, it can easily be re-located and used in different places.

The Ultra Stretch display is considered having superior picture quality as it applies the LG In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel. The new product also has an ultra high-definiton resolution of 3840x600 pixels, allowing a clear view of not only general videos but also small letters. The IPS panel has a 178 degree viewing angle, which enables users to view the same clear image at any location within that angle.
