Dongbu Daewoo Electronics Co., South Korea’s home appliances maker, is in full gear to earn the hearts of Chinese consumers, vowing to increase its sales in China 200 percent by exploring new TV markets, adding premium lineup and securing 400 dealers in the country, the company said Wednesday.

Celebrating the third year of its entry into China, Dongbu Daewoo Electronics unveiled its new television models including 32- to 55-inch ultra-high definition (UHD), light-emitting diode (LED), and smart TVs at the Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE), the biggest home electronics exhibition in China held in Shanghai last week. It said it aims to ship over 30,000 TVs to China this year and will step up efforts to improve its brand image with innovative products such as a 3-door refrigerator with a tea leaf storage compartment and a wall-mounted washing machine. Its wall-mounted front-loading washing machine accounted for 64.4 percent of the market for mini washing machines with a loading capacity below 3 kilograms, with cumulative sales of over 80,000 units.

In addition, Dongbu Daewoo Electronics plans to double its high-end product lineup, launching an oven with an air-fryer, refrigerators and micro ovens with retro look, front-loading washing machines with inclined door, and bottom-freezer refrigerators. At the home electronics show in Shanghai last week, the company succeeded in landing on pre-orders of 10,000 units of the retro-design microwave oven and bottom-freezer refrigerator, each.
