Johnson & Johnson to hold strategy meeting in Seoul

Johnson & Johnson Chairman and CEO Alex Gorsky arrived in Seoul Tuesday to attend the three-day conference in Grand Hyatt Seoul that lasts until Friday.
This is the first time a J&J strategy meeting is held in Korea. When the 130-year-old pharmaceutical company came to Asia, the meetings were held mostly in Tokyo or Beijing. “The fact that such an important meeting is held in Seoul reflects Korea’s rise in the rank in the global bio and pharmaceutical market,” said an official of a multinational drug company in Korea.
Industry insiders said J&J executives are scheduled to hold meetings with people in the local industry, but declined to give out details.
Of 15 largest multinational pharmaceutical companies, chiefs of eight are scheduled to visit Korea this year.
