Car theft Challenge [Photo by Yonhap]
South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Co. has recently introduced a solution for preventing car theft in the United States, embarking on an image overhaul in the world’s second-largest car market.
According to sources on Monday, Hyundai Motor’s U.S. subsidiary recently introduced an additional vehicle theft prevention solution.
The latest solution has been developed targeting vehicles with a relatively higher age, lacking push-start buttons and anti-theft devices, and where software upgrades are not possible.
It is designed to safeguard the ignition cylinder, a component used to start or stop the vehicle’s engine, preventing unauthorized external control of the vehicle.
The theft prevention solution will be provided free of charge through all Hyundai Motor dealer services across the U.S. Hyundai Motor aims to install the device in over 646,000 vehicles in the U.S.
