Wemade Co., a South Korean video game developer, announced on Wednesday that it entered a partnership with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Innovation Hub, becoming the first Korean game company to do so.
DIFC is an international financial zone in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, equipped with its own administrative, judicial, and regulatory bodies. The Innovation Hub is an institution within DIFC by the Dubai government to attract global companies in the blockchain, gaming, and artificial intelligence (AI) fields.
Wemade plans to open a “WEMIX PLAY Center” within the Innovation Hub, providing space for game companies that are onboarded (linked) to WEMIX.
WEMIX is the native coin of the WEMIX ecosystem, an experience-based, platform-driven, and service-oriented decentralized blockchain protocol.
The company will also start a $100 million global Web3 gaming fund with DIFC to invest in the successful entry of the WEMIX onboarded companies.
Wemade is also in the process of applying to register WEMIX as a cryptocurrency approved by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). Currently, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, and TON are the five cryptocurrencies approved by the DFSA.
