South Korea’s Lotte Homeshopping said Tuesday that its hamburger steak, a home meal replacement menu developed in collaboration with Korean YouTuber Tzuyang, sold out on the first day of launch on Friday.
The product drew attention as it has been developed based on a recipe from a pork cutlet restaurant recently opened by Tzuyang.
Tzuyang, who has 9 million subscribers, personally appeared on a live show that simultaneously aired on television and mobile devices. She introduced the hamburger steak, which comes with a special sauce.
More than 2,000 sets were ordered prior to the show, and all of the prepared 5,500 sets were sold within 65 minutes.
“As we have seen how competitive content commerce can be on home shopping channels, we will continue to make attempts to combine differentiated products with exotic content to offer the joy of shopping to customers,” said Park Hyung-gyu, head of food and living at Lotte Homeshopping.
