SSONO, a South Korean company specializing in apartment ventilation systems that can be washed with water, is grabbing the attention of numerous construction firms.

The company announced on Monday that it has secured a delivery contract with the upcoming Imun I-Park in the Imun 3 district of Seoul, with the total number of units in the area amounting to 4,321 households. SSONO previously supplied its advanced ventilation systems to new apartment complexes including Olympic Park Foreon (12,032 units), which was reconstructed from Dunchon Jugong Apartment in Seoul, and DH Firstier I-Park (6,702 units), which was reconstructed from the Gaepo-dong Gaepo Jugong 1 Complex.

Ventilation systems are mandatory installations for apartment complexes with 30 or more households. These systems work by sending stale indoor air outside while pulling fresh outdoor air inside. Each household has a motor-driven ventilation device (distributor) installed in their outdoor equipment rooms or multipurpose room ceilings, connected to several clean hoses (ducts). The hoses extract air from living rooms and bedrooms, allowing fresh outside air to circulate indoors.

SSONO’s new ventilation system can clean the interior of the clean hose pathways with water. The company has pioneered a system that allows the interior of the duct to be washed with water using dedicated cleaning equipment in a global first.

SSONO’s development of a washing system for clean hose interiors is a significant leap towards cleaner and healthier indoor air quality within residential spaces.
