LG Uplus enhances robot management with U-plus Robot data pipeline

LG Uplus Corp. said on Wednesday that it recently built a data pipeline, a set of data processing elements, for its robot control platform U-plus Robot.

U-plus Robot is a robot platform designed to show real-time data generated from available robots, with features such as remote control and usage statistics. LG Uplus built a standard allowing robots from different manufacturers to share the same networks within the platform.

The new protocol of data elements will allow the mobile carrier to collect various types of real-time data, including from robot hardware and apps before standardizing the data in accordance with the server. After processing and analyzing this data, the company will offer the results in a documented report with three sub-titles, including the usage and quality of robots as well as customer care.

The optimized protocol for robot usage was aimed at enhancing the company’s robot management and its ability to prevent any potential errors, on top of customer satisfaction, according to the Korean mobile carrier.

The company will strive to add further features to its robot platform, such as delivery control, with plans to broaden areas of data analysis.

“The new pipeline will enable the platform to detect any errors that could occur in practice and solve the issue, which would lead to increased usage of robots across various sectors, such as logistics,” Jeon Young-seo, head of LG Uplus’ Corporate Service Development Lab, said.
