The Ray EV, the lightweight electric vehicle (EV) of South Korean automaker Kia Corp., will be available for car-sharing service across the country.

Kia and SOCAR, a local car-sharing company, announced Monday that they will deploy the Kia Ray EV at SOCAR zones for car-sharing service.

The Ray EV is Kia’s entry-level urban EV with a 35.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that provides a single-charge driving range of 205 kilometers in mixed conditions and 233 kilometers in urban conditions.

It also offers tax benefits, including business operator value-added tax refunds.

The air trim of the Ray EV 4-seater passenger model is available for the SOCAR service.

The air trim comes with advanced driver-assistance systems and convenience features such as a fully folding driver’s seat and ventilated driver’s seat.

Additionally, the DriveWise II option is available in the model, allowing customers using the Ray EV to experience safety features such as side collision avoidance assistance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assistance, and safety exit warnings.

Customers who wish to use the service can rent the vehicle directly from a SOCAR zone via the platform’s application or use the on-demand service to call a vehicle to their desired location.
