Samsung Electronics Service attains international work safety standard

Samsung Electronics Service Co. has obtained certification for the ISO 45001 international occupational safety and health standard from the Korea Standards Association under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, the company said on Thursday.

ISO 45001 is an international standard for workplace-related health and safety management under+* the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is awarded to companies with a systematic management system that efficiently prevents industrial accidents and creates a safe working environment.

Samsung Electronics Service was awarded the certification for its comprehensive efforts to establish and disseminate safety and health management policies, assess and improve worker risk factors, and foster a safety-oriented organizational culture to create a safe working environment, according to the company.

Samsung Electronics Service has introduced a two-person team system for products including large TV screens as well as double-stacked washing machines and dryers. The company also made it mandatory for employees to wear safety gear during outdoor air conditioner unit work and register certification photos, focusing on identifying and improving potential factors for accidents during work.

When engineers identify hazardous situations during work, the company has given them the authority to stop work immediately and prioritize safety.

The company has pledged continued efforts to establish a safety and health management system to enable all employees to provide high-quality services in a safe working environment.
