SK enmove Co. is partnering with Hanwha Aerospace Co. to develop liquid cooling technology for energy storage systems (ESS) for vessels.
SK enmove signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hanwha Aerospace on Tuesday during the International Marine, Shipbuilding, Offshore, Oil & Gas Exhibition (KORMARINE 2023) held in Busan, according to the company’s announcement on Wednesday.
Under the MoU, the companies will develop liquid cooling technology for ESS in vessels and obtain various domestic and international ship certifications, with the aim of leading the ship ESS market.
Certified liquid cooling technologies for marine ESS are expected to see growing demand due to greenhouse gas emission regulations set forth by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
