LG Uplus Corp., South Korea’s third-largest wireless carrier, will introduce an enterprise-specific wireless internet service, called ‘U+ WiFi Office,’ for businesses with 100 employees or less, the company said on Tuesday.
Each access point (AP) can support 25 to 30 simultaneous connections, and even with multiple users connected to a single AP, the wireless internet usage remains uninterrupted thanks to the Internet Protocol (IP) system.
LG Uplus introduced U+ WiFi Office as a cost-effective option compared to enterprise-specific internet services typically used by large corporations. This service is also strong in terms of security because it separates the wireless networks for employees and external customers.
Additionally, the company monitors the U+ WiFi Office users’ network quality in real time through a dedicated control center and promptly replaces equipment at no cost in case of malfunctions.
U+ WiFi Office costs 16,500 won ($12.28) per month for AP rental, 27,500 won for an AP controller, and 3,300 won for Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch based on a five-year contract.
“We will continue to launch dedicated services tailored to various segments to innovate customer experiences and support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses,” LG Uplus senior managing director Park Sung-yul said.
