Air Premia celebrates first anniversary of Incheon-LA route launch

South Korean budget air carrier Air Premia Inc. said on Monday that its first long-haul route between Incheon and Los Angeles in the United States recorded 519 flights as of the end of September 2023, which welcomed a total of 137,505 passengers on board since its launch in October 2022.

The route showed a stable boarding rate of 85.7 percent on average, and its passenger share was 12.4 percent.

Among the passengers on the route, 54.2 percent were female, while 45.8 percent were men. Those in their 20s formed the largest group among the passengers by age at 20.7 percent, followed by those in their 60s and older, standing at 19.1 percent, and 30s at 17.7 percent.

Around 19.9 percent of all passengers were foreigners, a group accounting for 43.9 percent of those on inbound flights to Incheon.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the route’s launch, the airline will offer promotional discounts to the Incheon-LA route until October 29.

“This success underscores our position as a hybrid carrier,” Air Premia’s Head of Commercial Kim Ki-beom said, adding, “We will continue to look for and offer new travel choices to customers as we seek to make long-haul flights more accessible.”
