LG Uplus inks collaboration for safer renewable energy

LG Uplus Corp., one of South Korea’s top three wireless carriers, will tap its mobile network solutions to ensure the widespread and safer use of renewable energy.

The mobile carrier said on Thursday that it recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the state-run Korea Gas Technology Corp and PPCO Ltd., a manufacturer specializing in Internet of Things (IoT) terminal devices, to promote collaboration on technological advances in safety inspection for hydrogen pipelines. Under the new partnership, the trio will work together to develop new solutions to enhance the safety of hydrogen pipelines. The new solutions can include safety control sensors, control platforms designed for remote monitoring, and algorithms for data analysis using artificial intelligence and big data.
