MICUBE Solution Inc., a company that specializes in providing smart factory solutions to major manufacturers in Korea, is garnering attention as it is set to expand its customer base.

The company has recently expanded its range of smart factory solutions beyond the fields of electrical and electronic manufacturing, semiconductors, displays, secondary batteries, machinery, and steel to include food, ceramics, and automotive sectors.

In an interview with Maeil Business Newspaper on Monday, the company’s CEO Park Moon-won explained that a smart factory encompasses more than just factory automation.

He described it as a system that automates and enhances the intelligence of the entire manufacturing process, from product orders to shipment.

Park emphasized that the key is integrating and linking all aspects of the manufacturing process using information technology to maximize productivity, quality, and cost savings, and his company provides the essential infrastructure for this purpose.

According to Park, companies that have adopted MICUBE Solution’s smart factory solutions have seen an average increase in revenue of 20 percent, a 30 percent reduction in defect rates, and a 10 percent improvement in equipment operating rates.

He also mentioned that the company has recently developed an artificial intelligence (AI) platform that uses machine learning to predict equipment failures and other issues one week in advance.

MICUBE Solution provides software that integrates and enhances the information and data generated in manufacturing environments, maximizing factory efficiency.

The Korean government has been active in nurturing 25,000 digital manufacturing innovation companies by 2027.

“Until last year, the government’s smart factory support program and promotion policies were focused on quantitative expansion, but now it’s time for qualitative enhancement, including the advancement of smart factories,” Park said.

The government is actively supporting the growth of digital manufacturing innovation companies.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to support 5,000 advanced model factories, focusing on autonomous factories that minimize worker intervention and digital collaborative factories within the value chain, applying AI and digital twins to companies with advanced capabilities.
