Apple releases fix for overheating iPhone 15 ahead of Korean pre-orders

Apple released iOS 17.0.3 on Wednesday (local time), which includes a fix for an issue that caused Apple’s latest iPhone 15 models to overheat.
“This update provides important bug fixes and security updates, as well as addressing an issue that may cause iPhone to run warmer than expected,” according to the software’s change log.
Over the weekend, Apple confirmed media reports that its new iPhones tended to overheat. Apple said the issue could happen while setting up the phone or rebooting it as apps run in the background and some third-party apps are updated, while promising to address the issue with a software update.
Meanwhile, South Korean consumers can start pre-ordering the iPhone 15 series from October 6 as the three major network operators in the country, SK telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, gear up for the official launch.
The telcos will be accepting pre-orders from Friday, starting at midnight, until October 12. The official sales of the latest iPhone models are set to commence on October 13.
Customers can place their pre-orders at official retail stores as well as the respective companies’ official online stores. In addition to the iPhone 15 series (including Regular, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max models), the release will also include the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Catering to the strong preference for iPhones among the younger demographic, the companies have rolled out various promotions and offers.
