Korea’s SK on tops Fortune’s 2023 Change the World list

The magazine jointly ranked SK on as No. 1 alongside Tesla Inc., General Motors Co., and EV charging company ChargePoint, dubbing them the “American electrifiers,” a group of businesses in the transportation industry that help make EVs more practical and affordable.
Fortune praised SK on for infusing vitality into the U.S. battery manufacturing industry, saying the company’s factories will produce batteries capable of powering about 1.5 million electric cars in the U.S. annually from 2025.
SK on currently operates two factories in Georgia, U.S., and is in the process of building two battery plants in Kentucky and one in Tennessee in collaboration with Ford Motor Co.
Fortune compiles its annual ranking of around 50 innovative companies based on their positive impact on society, the environment, business performance, innovation, and more. Among Korean companies, SK on was the only one to earn a place on this list.
