SK telecom is venturing into the international market by supplying its artificial intelligence (AI) solution “X Caliber” for analyzing pet X-rays to Japanese animal hospitals.
The Korean wireless network operator said on Tuesday that it had entered a strategic partnership on September 20 for pet AI healthcare with Anicom Holdings, a leading player in the Japanese pet insurance market with a 46 percent market share.
Under the collaboration, SK telecom and Anicom Holdings will jointly conduct research using their AI technologies and pet-related data. The companies will also work with Anicom Holdings’ electronic charting solutions subsidiary to distribute X Caliber to veterinary clinics in Japan.
