Naver Pay users in South Korea will soon have the convenience of using their Naver Pay money and points for offline transactions through Samsung Pay’s magnetic secure transmission (MST) technology.
The service will be offered by BC Card, which will connect its merchant network with Naver Pay and handle the processing of payments made using Naver Pay money and points, the credit card company said on Monday.
With the new service, Naver Pay customers will be able to effortlessly utilize their Naver Pay money and points using Samsung Pay’s MST technology at any participating offline merchant that accepts BC Card payments.
To initiate the transaction, users simply need to open the Naver Pay app, select the Samsung Pay tab, and hold their smartphone near the merchant’s terminal. Any insufficient funds for the purchase will be automatically topped up from the user’s linked bank account.
The collaboration between Naver Pay and BC Card expands the reach of Naver Pay money and points, making them accessible at a broader range of offline locations.
